* The Prime Minister was transferred to the ICU at St Thomas' Hospital in London at 7pm this evening
* He remains conscious and Number 10 sources stressed he had been moved to intensive care as a precaution

Boris Johnson was last night moved to intensive care after his coronavirus condition worsened, forcing him to temporarily delegate his responsibilities while he is treated by doctors.

The Prime Minister was transferred to the ICU at St Thomas' Hospital in London at 7pm yesterday - 11 days after testing positive for the deadly disease.

Only two hours earlier, Downing Street were insisting he was still spearheading the government's coronavirus response, despite de facto deputy Dominic Raab chairing the morning crisis meeting.

Yet shortly after the Foreign Secretary left the Number 10 podium following the daily 5pm press briefing, Mr Johnson suffered breathing problems and was given oxygen.

WNU Editor: No one gets wheeled into the ICU hooked up to an oxygen tank unless it is very serious. A good friend of mine works as an anesthesiologist at a major Montreal hospital who has seen more than her share of Covid-19 cases in the past two weeks, and she just told me that for such a fast collapse his case is probably far more serious than what they are reporting. This is who will take over if the Prime Minister becomes incapacitated .... Who is Dominic Raab, Britain's standby leader? (Reuters).

1) Speedy recovery to the prime minister.

2) this virus seems to hurt those most who get exposed to more of it. I wonder if social distancing will be enough in the long term as this virus can accumulate and overwhelm in high enough concentrations. Also because it can survive so long and hover in air so long

This really seems like a bio weapon creating mass havoc on the west and it might truly have escaped the wuhan lab.

The Chinese must know that in this case-and it looks more and more like it-the lawsuits and tariffs would bankrupt China 10times over

Therefore we will see war

Likely a US naval ship will be attacked in the western Pacific / south of China Sea

I watched Dom Raab on an interview. He was calm but his body language indicated otherwise. Eyes wide, he spoke quickly, controlled his breathing, maybe suffering from after effects of Covid 19 & when asked about how the government was performing his answered positively but shook his head negatively. I once met Mr Johnson briefly. He was polite to us plebs & likeable, unlike some other politicians I've seen. Although I used to vote Labour I wish him a full recovery. 🙏

Dom's only had 12 months of cabinet experience, give him time to settle into the role.
