WASHINGTON (AFP) — Pakistan insisted Tuesday it was committed to fighting extremism as it opened a thorough review with Afghanistan and the United States on fighting the growing threat of Islamic militants.
The foreign ministers of Pakistan and Afghanistan held talks in Washington on Tuesday ahead of three-way meetings with President Barack Obama's administration, which is trying to boost the "war on terror" in South Asia.
Pakistan has come under increasing criticism from US lawmakers who accuse the frontline ally of turning a blind eye to Islamic militants holed up in its lawless northwest bordering Afghanistan.

My Comment: Pakistan is losing in their war against the Taliban. Their assurances do not amount to much if they cannot even control the Taliban in their own country.
