Intelligence Chiefs Itching To Buy Advanced Snoop Satellites

National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair and Defense Secretary Robert Gates have proposed the creation of new, sophisticated spy satellites, a program that could cost over $10 billion. The so-called 2+2 program is meant to avert a potential gap in U.S. imagery satellite coverage around the world.

The national intelligence director and defense secretary are asking the Obama administration to approve a new top-secret spy satellite program that could cost more than US$10 billion, according to government, military and industry officials.

My Comment: I always laugh when I hear budget projections .... especially when it comes to military and intelligence programs. For this program .... you know that at the end it is not going to cost $10 billion .... but probably double if not more.
