Saudi Security Sees al-Qaeda Threat From Neighboring Yemen

April 26 (Bloomberg) -- Saudi Arabian security officials are concerned that al-Qaeda militants will recruit new members and plan attacks against the world’s largest oil supplier from neighboring Yemen.

“Our concern is that al-Qaeda, which has faced very intensive resistance in Saudi Arabia, is trying to find somewhere close where it can launch an attack against the kingdom,” Saudi Interior Ministry spokesman General Mansur al- Turki said in an interview yesterday in Riyadh. “If al-Qaeda has a safe haven anywhere close, it would be able to rebuild.”

My Comment: And the U.S. Government is contemplating releasing all of its Yemeni prisoners in Guantanamo to the Yemeni Government.

Sigh .... it appears that The Saudi's are warning the Americans that the real situation in Yemen is not as clear cut as the U.S. Government would like to believe.
