South Korean naval vessels patrol off Yeonpyeong Island in the disputed waters of the Yellow Sea, the scene of previous clashes with North Korea. South Korean and U.S. troops were put on on higher alert after North Korea announced it was abandoning the 1953 armistice that ended the Korean War. America's North Korean Military Options -- Real Clear World

It's often said in response to North Korea’s provocations, including its most recent testing of an atomic bomb, that the U.S. has no realistic military options. It is always assumed that the only military option is to bomb the North’s nuclear facilities at Yongbyon and elsewhere.
