Obama Admin, Longbows OK’d for Egypt, Blocked for Israel ?

The U.S. administration wants to go ahead with an AH-64 attack helicopter order for Egypt and turn down one for Israel. The quoted articles are a tad off. Congress has to approve or disapprove all this. If there are any problems, AIPACs voice will be heard.

Government sources said the administration has held up Israel’s request for the AH-64D Apache Longbow attack helicopter. The sources said the request was undergoing an interagency review to determine whether additional Longbow helicopters would threaten Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.

My Comment: I reported on this story a few days ago (Administration Blocks Helicopters For Israel Due To Civilian Casualties In Gaza), but I was not aware that the administration was pushing to sell these helicopters to Egypt.

One more bit of news to make the Israeli Government wonder what is happening in Washington. Interestingly .... Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been very quiet on all of these developments.
