LONDON (Reuters) - A month-long conflict between Yemeni government forces and rebels has spread, taking the plight of civilians to alarming levels, with hungry people stranded in the open, on the sides of roads and under bridges, the United Nations said.
However, a U.N. appeal for emergency funds to help up to 150,000 displaced people in the north of the poorest Arab nation has so far met with silence.
