U.S. Charges Afghan-Born Man With New York Bombing Plot -- Reuters
NEW YORK, Sept 24 (Reuters) - A Colorado airport shuttle bus driver was charged under federal anti-terrorism laws with plotting to set off explosives in the United States, accused of acquiring the same bomb-making chemicals used in the 2005 London transit attacks.
Najibullah Zazi, 24, an Afghan immigrant already under arrest in Colorado on another charge, was indicted by a grand jury on suspicion of conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction, authorities announced on Thursday.

Illinois Man Charged In Plot To Bomb Federal Offices -- Reuters
WASHINGTON, Sept 24 (Reuters) - An Illinois man was ordered held on Thursday on charges he tried to blow up a federal building in the state capital, a case unrelated to the New York terrorism plot.
Michael Finton, also known as Talib Islam, was arrested in Springfield, Illinois, and charged with attempted murder of federal officers or employees and trying to use a weapon of mass destruction, charges that carry a life sentence.

Man Arrested In Alleged Attempt To Bomb Dallas Skyscraper -- Dallas News
Federal authorities arrested a 19-year-old Jordanian citizen whom they said placed an inactive car bomb today at Fountain Place, a 60-story skyscraper in downtown Dallas.
Hosam Maher Husein Smadi has repeatedly voiced his intent to serve Osama bin Laden and al-Qa’ida and commit “violent Jihad,” authorities said in a prepared statement.

Inoperative Cameras Hinder SEPTA 'Photo' Probe -- CBS #3, Philadelphia
Twice in the past two days, SEPTA officials have alerted police to men taking pictures on the Broad Street subway line in South Philadelphia.
On Wednesday, a SEPTA cashier told officers about a man taking pictures at the Lombard-South station, but the man, after being questioned by the cashier about his activities, left before officers arrived.

Terror Suspect Allegedly Planned To Attack Marine Base -- CNN
(CNN) -- A North Carolina man accused of plotting to wage holy war overseas also planned to attack the U.S. Marine base at Quantico, Virginia, according to new charges announced Thursday.
The charge is one of three counts in a new indictment against Daniel Patrick Boyd, who authorities allege is the ringleader of a group of men charged with training in North Carolina for a "violent jihad." Boyd and another man, Hysen Sherifi, are charged with conspiring to murder U.S. military personnel.

My Comment: Is this a wake up call? Are these threats isolated incidents? Should we be worried?
I do not know the answers to these questions, but I do know that a lot of people in law enforcement whose responsibility is national security .... these people are worried.
