Obama Vow To Close Guantamo Hit Hard By Political, Practical Realities -- NPR
It's been obvious for moths that the Obama Administration's plans to close the Guantanamo detention facility have smacked hard into wall of reality, which is that coming up with a plan to close it would be hard.
The Washington Post does a good job of laying out the problems encountered by the Obama White House which seem to have originated with a failure to appreciate just how difficult it would be to relocate hundreds of individuals who for years were called the "worst of the worst" by the prior administration.

My Comment: Someone made a mistake .... this type of bad news is usually released late Friday night.
When President Obama signed his decree authorizing the closing of Guantanamo Bay this January, I wrote in this blog that this was a totally unrealistic goal if you want to do it right ..... and I am not a lawyer.
8 months later, the administration is now eating crow, and blaming the Bush Administration, lousy paper and book keeping, the international community, and Congress.
Sigh .... if I may quote Buddha .... when you point a finger at someone, you are pointing three at yourself.
