Revealed: Libya Paid For Medical Advice That Helped Lockerbie Bomber's Release
From The Telegraph:
The British, Scottish and Libyan governments connived to free Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi on compassionate grounds The Sunday Telegraph can disclose.
Medical evidence that helped Megrahi, 57, to be released was paid for by the Libyan government, which encouraged three doctors to say he had only three months to live.
The life expectancy of Megrahi was crucial because, under Scottish rules, prisoners can be freed on compassionate grounds only if they are considered to have this amount of time, or less, to live.

My Comment: This is probably my last commentary on this issue. The more I write about it, the more angry I get .... and I am pretty steamed up right now.
When I first heard about the release of the Lockerbie bomber, I wrote in this blog that I smelled a rat. The Scottish Minister was waxing about compassion and humanitarian good will .... but there was no compassion to the families .... no consideration of what did they feel or think.
The main stream media then jumped into the fray ..... not only finding someone in a Lockerbie bar who approved of the release and the government's actions, but also trying their best to differentiate the mood in the U.S. from the mood that was in Scotland.
They .... like the Scottish and U.K. Governments .... failed on all accounts.
But it is the media (or at least some parts of it) who are now investigating this story, and are finding hubris, corruption, and outright lying from all branches of the government. This is Britain's biggest story, for it reveals the moral decay and destructive behavior of electing a government that has the arrogance to believe that they know what is best, and that tradition, history, and proper behavior can be thrown out of the window without any consideration or sense of personal responsibility or consequence for one's actions.
The Brown Government and their corrupt allies in Scotland have lost all credibility .... and do not deserve to be trusted on any issue. But as bad as they are .... they still have 1 more year in their term. The destruction and devastation that they can cause in the next year can pale in comparison to what has happened in Britain in the past year.
