My Comment: Unfortunately, many Afghan women strongly support the Taliban, and what this small group of U.S. soldiers are trying to do is just a spit in the bucket.

Long time readers of this blog know that my uncle was a senior officer in the Soviet Army during their occupation of Afghanistan in the 1980s, a man who has been invaluable in giving me information and advice on how the Soviets fought their war in Afghanistan. I asked him once a question .... how dedicated were the Mujaheddin to their cause and in fighting the Soviets. His response .... they were very dedicated, but they paled in comparison to the fanaticism that some of the women were more than eager to exhibit. Islamic faith or not .... the women were sometimes the driving force for these men to succeed .... which (of course) they did.

Yup .... this female contingent of U.S. forces have their work cut out for them.
