Report: F-35 Is Far Behind Schedule And Over Budget -- Star Telegram

Work on the F-35 joint strike fighter program is far behind schedule and over budget despite the completion Saturday of a milestone test flight.

Reports prepared by the Defense Contract Management Agency for Defense Department officials show that Lockheed and other contractors are months late on deliveries of test airplanes and components for future production aircraft.

My Comment: This has the potential to be not only a fiscal budgetary disaster, but if problems continue in production and development of components for the F-35, national security will be severely impacted.

It is unbelievable that this information could only be made public through a Freedom of Information request .... Congress and the oversight committees responsible for the F-35 program must start to investigate what is exactly happening .... and investigate now.
