No Al Qaeda Defeat Until Osama Caught -- DoD Buzz

The world can­not defeat al Qaeda until Osama bin Laden is cap­tured or killed, Gen. Stanley McChrystal told the Senate Armed Services Committee Tuesday.

Bin Laden, the ter­ror­ist leader who has eluded cap­ture since the U.S. and coali­tion forces invaded Afghanistan eight years ago, “is an iconic fig­ure at this point whose sur­vival embold­ens al Qaeda,” and helps them attract new recruits around the world, McChrystal told Sen. John McCain, the committee’s top Republican.

My Comment: Capturing or killing Osama Bin Laden will now only have a tremendous impact on Al Qaeda .... it will also significantly increase the morale within the U.S. and within its military. My only hope is that such an accomplishment will happen in my lifetime.
