My Comment: Eric Holder was chosen by President Obama to be Attorney General for the simple reason being that President Obama agrees with much (if not all) of Eric Holder's legal beliefs and interpretations. Smacking down Holder will be equivalent to smacking himself down. But having said that .... President Obama is a politician and his world revolves around politics. If it is politically expedient for him to undercut Holder on this issue .... I am betting that he will.

My prediction .... in the next few months a decision will be made that civilian and military trials will be applied to Guantanamo detainees on a case by case basis. At the same time, the official date for the closure of Guantanamo will be made, and in this case President Obama's promise for closure will be met.
