As Gitmo Detainees’ Legal Victories Mount, Obama Administration Resists Orders to Release -- Propublica

My Comment
: Should we be surprised by these developments .... no. Many of these detainees were imprisoned on evidence that will not hold up in any civilian court. Using enhanced interrogation techniques, being captured in battlefield conditions, intelligence eaves dropping and accumulation of evidence that would never be permitted in the US .... lets face it .... no civilian court will permit such evidence to be permitted.

What will probably wake up everyone is if someone like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed wins his case .... but for the moment we will have to deal with many of these former Guantanamo detainees returning to the battlefield to kill our soldiers.

As for the White House reaction to resist releasing these detainees .... I am sure the adults in the government have gotten involved because they do not like what they see .... and worse .... do not like the consequences if this continues.
