Hillary Clinton implies Megrahi's release from jail a year ago denied justice to Lockerbie victims

The US has called for the Libyan convicted of the Lockerbie bombing to be returned to a Scottish jail.

The Obama administration said it had advised Libyan officials of its view that Abdelbaset al-Megrahi should not be free.

On the first anniversary of Megrahi's early release from prison yesterday, Barack Obama's counter-terrorism adviser, John Brennan, condemned the Scottish government's decision to release the only person convicted of the Lockerbie bombing as "unfortunate and inappropriate".
