US Commander In Afghanistan: Tough Fight In 2011 -- ABC News

US commander in Afghanistan: Progress made in 2010; 2011 will be hard fight to expand security

The top U.S. and NATO commander in Afghanistan says in an assessment of the war that the military has "made impressive progress" in 2010 but that 2011 is "likely to be tough" as forces work to expand security.

The assessment comes in a letter from Gen. David Petraeus to the troops Tuesday, ahead of President Barack Obama's State of the Union address.
