House Republicans challenged top Pentagon officials Wednesday on the Obama administration's plans to cut projected defense spending by $78 billion over the next five years, complaining that the reductions could jeopardize national security.
In the opening hearing of the House Armed Services Committee under new Republican leadership, members of the majority elected in November questioned elements of the reductions and protested what they described as the Pentagon's failure to include the committee in its decision-making process.

My Comment: Congress wants details and specifics .... and the Pentagon better quickly realize that while the previous Congress were docile when it came to the Pentagon budget, this new Congress is not.
