Why China's Anti-Carrier Missiles Should Concern Us

Why China's Missiles Should Be Our Focus -- Washington Post

With the New START treaty ratified, the Obama administration can turn its attention to the real source of nuclear instability among the great powers: China's buildup of conventional ballistic missiles. The latest destabilizing system is China's anti-ship ballistic missile, the "carrier killer" that the head of the U.S. Pacific Command, Adm. Robert Willard, deemed operational last week.

My Comment: The focus should be on these Chinese missiles .... but for the moment the U.S. Navy is focused on this news story.

focus should be on getting information security fixed - because every new technology, especially one that counteracts china's missiles - will be leaked out within days or weeks, rendering it virtually useless

so get the information security right, then bother about other technologies, because for the next decades or so china would never dare to sink a US carrier anyways

what#s your thoughts?

Thanks Mark for your comment.

The Chinese have zero interest in provoking a military confrontation with the U.S. They have nothing to gain .... and everything to lose.

Their focus is to expand economically, and to form political/international alliances based on this economic strength.

I expect them to continue with this policy.
