North Korea Says Open to Talks on Uranium Enrichment -- Global Security Newswire

North Korea informed a visiting Russian diplomat it was open to talks about its uranium enrichment activities should the moribund multinational aid-for-denuclearization negotiations be reconvened, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday (see GSN, March 14).

The international community was taken aback in November when Pyongyang revealed it had secretly constructed a uranium enrichment plant at the Yongbyon nuclear complex, potentially giving it a second path to generating bomb-grade material.
