At least six soldiers were killed Friday during clashes between Thai and Cambodian forces near two temples in a contentious border region, according to reports.
The two sides exchanged fire with rockets, machine-guns and rifles near Ta Krabey and Ta Moan in Thailand's Surin province, with nationalist fervor in both countries said to be partly responsible for fuelling the decades-old dispute over the temples and the surrounding land.
