US Begins Armed Drone Missions Over Libya -- SKY News

US armed drones are being deployed over Libya to help protect civilians as Colonel Muammar Gaddafi's forces continue to fight rebels for control of Misratah.

The first two aircraft were sent to the country on Thursday but had to turn back because of bad weather.

The rebels welcomed the deployment - but Libya's deputy foreign minister Khalid Kaim told Sky News it would result in more civilian casualties.

The U.S. will deploy armed drones over Libya in a move it claims will aid the "humanitarian situation" in the north African nation. WSJ's Nathan Hodge says the experience in other conflict zones suggests the deployment should work.
