A Russian double agent who allegedly helped the United States unmask 11 Russian spies including Anna Chapman last year faces up to 20 years in jail for treason and desertion if he is ever caught and convicted

Investigators from Russia's FSB security service said they had finished a criminal investigation into Colonel Alexander Poteyev, the alleged traitor, and that a military court in Moscow would try his case in absentia.

"The FSB investigation department has completed an investigation into the case to charge Russian national Alexander Poteyev with committing high treason by divulging state secrets," the FSB said in a statement.
