Disney Drops Its Trademark Application For SEAL Team Six

Filed: Disney requested three trademarks on various products under the name 'Seal Team 6'

Fresh from the raid against Osama Bin Laden, it appears SEAL Team Six have claimed another high profile scalp - Disney.

The entertainment giant has withdrawn its application to trade mark 'SEAL Team 6' for a TV program 'in deference' to the Navy's counter claim on the title.

Disney made the trademark application following the raid by the elite strike team that killed Bin Laden on May 2.

In response, the US Navy registered two trademarks, 'Navy SEALS' and 'SEAL Team' according to media reports that said Disney had the right to 'Seal Team 6' because it applied first.
