Military Chiefs To Work On Cutting $400 Billion -- Wall Street Journal

CAMP HANSEN, OKINAWA, Japan—U.S. service chiefs and other senior military leaders are preparing to hash out a process for meeting the White House's target to cut $400 billion in defense spending by 2023, according to the top Marine general.

On a visit this week to bases here in Okinawa, Marine Corps Commandant Gen. James Amos said that a top-to-bottom review of Pentagon priorities, spurred by the Obama administration's deficit-reduction plan, would be the subject of meetings next week among the heads of the military services and the geographic commands.

My Comment: They will never say it, but you know that the Military Chiefs are praying that President Obama and his administration will be defeated in next year's election .... and these cuts will not happen. Unfortunately .... I know that this will not happen. While President Obama's re-election is not a guarantee thing, huge government deficits are. Regardless of who will end up in power next year, hard decisions on what to spend and what to cut will need to happen .... and the U.S. military will not be able to avoid this budget cutting.
