More Sackings Of Personnel In The British Military

Navy And RAF Forced To Sack Hundreds As Few Volunteer For Redundancy -- The Telegraph

More than 1,000 Royal Navy and RAF personnel will be forced out of their Service after fewer than half the numbers expected agreed to voluntary redundancy, a senior officer has disclosed.

Compulsorily redundancies will now be forced on 1,600 servicemen and women - nearly all of whom have served on dangerous operations abroad.

The Navy’s head of personnel has described the situation as “sad” and the sackings will mean a “very difficult period” as the military comes to terms with shrinking numbers.

His words come after the Ministry of Defence announced a dramatic cut of a further 11,000 soldiers from the Army that will shrink it to 84,000 troops.

My Comment: Everyone knows that this is just the first wave .... that more firings are expected in the near future.
