David Cameron was surrounded by armed rebels amid tight security today as he made a surprise visit to Libya to meet its new leaders.

The Prime Minister, who told Muammar Gaddafi 'it's over, give up' as he made an address in Tripoli, and Nicolas Sarkozy became the first Western leaders to visit Libya since Gaddafi was ousted.

The pair, who were instrumental in pushing the international community to support the country's rebel forces, were holding talks with its new leaders about how to rebuild the nation.

Both he and Sarkozy were greeted rapturously with huge crowds cheering them in the streets.

My Comment: The sight of both Cameron and Sarkozy in Libya must make Gaddafi sick inside .... and as for their protection .... no surprise .... the war is still going on.
