'Super committee' urged to cut no more defense spending

My Comment: The US debt crisis and its impact on the US defense budget reminds me of the impact that the breakup of the Soviet Union (and subsequent financial meltdown) had on its military ..... in short .... it was not pretty. While the US is not going to break up, the US military will be faced with huge cuts and shortfalls .... and probably more than the cuts that are now projected (my prediction).

Panetta warns about taking the military to the edge .... hmmmm .... from my experience and from what I can see .... the US military budget has already passed the edge of the cliff and we are just waiting for the thump of the body when it hits the ground.
