Will Mass Migration Create The Next Humanitarian Crises

Major Migration Challenge By 2060, Experts Warn -- The Telegraph

Climate and other environmental changes will cause "major challenges" for world leaders over the next 50 years as mass migration threatens to create new humanitarian crises, a major new report says.

The impact of climate change and degradation of land and oceans will play an increasingly important role in migration in the future as its impact on people's livelihoods grows ever greater.

But governments must also prepare for the millions who will be "trapped" in dangerous areas – often due to the cost of moving – and for the vast numbers who will increasingly flock to vulnerable urban areas in search of work, experts said.

The UK-led report – the largest migration study ever conducted – warned that by 2060 the world's population will have reached its peak at about nine billion, leading to greater demands on natural resources and creating new "mega-cities".

My Comment: Can the earth sustain 9 billion people with climate change and depletion of resources a major factor .... if technology does not keep pace .... the answer is simple .... no.
