David Cameron And Military Chiefs Review Falklands Security Amid Growing Tensions With Argentina -- The Telegraph
David Cameron has accused Argentina of “colonialism” over its claim on the Falklands, as Britain’s top military council met to discuss how to defend the islands.
The Prime Minister called a meeting of senior Cabinet members, army officers and intelligence chiefs, amid growing tensions with Argentina over the sovereignty of the islands.
Argentina has recently accused Britain of “taking its resources”, ahead of the 30 year anniversary of the Falklands War this spring.
It has also persuaded some fellow countries in South America to join a blockade against Falklands ships, as the islands prepare to start drilling for oil for the first time in their history.
