My Comment: Russia has spent years in establishing a close relationship with the Assad regime in Syria and with the mullahs in Tehran. Both countries are major purchases of Russian products, with Syria also having close military ties with the Russian military. The fact that Moscow is now seeing everything unravel must be very unsettling for them .... doubly so since they have now staked their international reputation in supporting the Assad regime in Syria. My prediction .... Russia is going to lose out in the end. The Syrian people are in revolt, and Assad;s options are running out. As for Iran .... if there ever was a powder keg that could go off at any moment .... it is in Iran.
