North Korea Preps For Rocket Launch, Gives Kim Jong-un New Title -- National Post/Reuters

North Korea pushed ahead with its plans to launch a long-range rocket amid intense international criticism, while the country’s young leader, Kim Jong-un, was given a new title to bolster his power.

On Wednesday, the impoverished nation said it was injecting fuel “as we speak” into the Unha-3 rocket, allowing for a launch as early as Thursday. The West, along with North Korea’s neighbours, say the launch is a disguised ballistic missile test.

North Korea — which says the rocket will only put a weather satellite into space — is preparing mass celebrations for the launch.
