Embattled Syrian leader Bashar Assad has been sighted in Damascus, according to the country's state TV, in the first sign of the president since a rebel attack killed three senior officials at the heart of his regime.
It has been reported that Assad attended the swearing-in of his new defence minister General Fahad Jassim al-Freij today - the day after rebels killed three of his top security chiefs in a devastating bomb attack.
The video was released following increasing speculation about Assad's whereabouts with some reports suggesting he could have left the Syrian capital.
