February 5, 2013: The government has threatened to retaliate against Israel, using some of its SCUD missiles. This threat was mostly for show, as Israeli anti-missile systems would defeat a few missiles and a larger effort would trigger a major Israeli counterattack. The Assad military has been rendered even less able to resist an Israeli ground attack by over a year of fighting rebels. My Comment: There is a lot of info in this post .... and the title is right .... fatigue, shortages of supplies, and bad weather has slowed down the fighting. It is winter in Syria right now .... everyone's priority is to stay warm and to have enough to eat. But spring is only 6 weeks away .... and the start of summer a month after that. It is during this time that the fighting will then pick up, and it is during this time that casualty rates will probably sky-rocket to unbelievable numbers. And if the Syrian government then decides to use WMDs .... expect all hell to then break loose.
