Venezuela Without Chavez Is Having An Impact

 

With Chavez Away For Months, Big Changes Roil Venezuela -- CNN 

 (CNN) -- What can happen in a country while the president is gone for more than two months? A lot. Just ask Venezuelans.

 President Hugo Chavez hasn't appeared in public or on national television since he went to Cuba for cancer surgery in December.

Allies maintain that he's running his country from Havana, while critics say that the country is in limbo without a leader.

Chavez's lengthy absence from Venezuela hasn't stopped his government from making some significant changes. The latest one -- devaluing the country's currency -- starts Wednesday.

It's a significant move that stands to affect global businesses and everyday Venezuelans. Here are some key things that have happened in Venezuela since Chavez made his last public appearance on December 10:

My Comment: It is obvious that he is very sick. The Venezuelan government may pretend that everything is normal .... but it is not. And if Chavez does recover and is able to come back to Venezuela .... this is my prediction .... it will be very difficult for him to function 100% on even the good days.
