Report: Saudi Arabia To Supply Rebels With Anti-Aircraft Missiles -- Digital Journal
A report released by a German news agency on Sunday, claims that Riyadh has been planning on sending European-made anti-aircraft missiles known as MANPADS, or man-portable air-defense systems, to the Syrian opposition.
Fars News reported that according to Der Spiegel, a classified report received by the German government and the German Foreign Intelligence detailed Saudi Arabia's intended plans of arming the rebels with portable air-defense systems.
The missiles, which are European-made Mistral-class, are similar to the type used during the 1980's by Mujahideen troops in Afghanistan, when fighting the Soviets; a surface-to-air missile capable of downing low-flying aircraft such as helicopters, which would become a grave threat to al-Assad's air force.

My Comment: If this Iranian news report is accurate .... Saudi Arabia's involvement in Syria is more deeper than what is being reported. The Saudi King's early return from vacation is also another sign that Saudi Arabia is planning for a greater involvement in the Syrian civil war.
