South Africans Wait, Hopeful As Mandela's Health Remains Critical -- Voice of America

South Africans are expressing a mix of hope and resignation as former president Nelson Mandela remains in critical condition.

The South African presidency says Mandela's condition was "unchanged" Tuesday and that doctors continue doing their best "to ensure his recovery, well-being and comfort."

The anti-apartheid leader has been in a Pretoria hospital for more than two weeks, fighting a lung infection.
