The Top Five National Security Threats of 2014 vs. 2013 -- Wall Street Journal

The U.S. intelligence community has altered its assessment of threats facing America in the wake of revelations based on leaks of classified information by former government contractor Edward Snowden.

Intelligence officials now view the threat from counterintelligence – foreign spying and the leaking of vital U.S. information – as the No. 2 danger facing the country, moving up two spots from an assessment delivered last year.

Mr. Snowden fled the country and leaked U.S. secrets, providing what intelligence officials fear is an advantage to U.S. adversaries.

My Comment: It is clear that Edward Snowden has had a profound impact on the intelligence community .... counterintelligence is now the intelligence community's second biggest concern (from number four last year).
