Crimea Votes to Leave Ukraine for Russia -- Time

Voters in the autonomous and contested southern peninsula of Ukraine overwhelmingly approved a referendum on Sunday to secede from Kiev's government and join Russia despite strong condemnation by the U.S. and European powers

Voters in the Crimea region of Ukraine voted overwhelmingly on Sunday to secede from their country and join Russia, in a major victory for Moscow that followed days of international condemnation that the referendum itself was illegitimate.

My Comment: 97% in favor of joining Russia .... and the turnout was very heavy .... for all intent and purposes .... Crimea is now a part of Russia.
