Turkey's PM Erdogan Orders Twitter To Be Blocked



Turkey Blocks Twitter Access -- Voice of America

Turkey has blocked access to the social media network Twitter as the government battles a corruption scandal just days ahead of local elections.

Turkey's main opposition party said it will file a legal challenge against the court decision to block the online social networking and microblogging service.

The opposition Republican Peoples's Party said it will also file a criminal complaint against Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the grounds that he is violating personal freedoms.
