Is The British Military Completely Outgunned By Russia?

Our Typhoon Fighters Look Flashy, But We Are Completely Outgunned By Russia -- The Telegraph

Although the sight of Britain’s most sophisticated fighter jet shadowing the ageing Russian Tupolev-95 gives the impression that we have a military edge over Moscow, this image could not be further from the truth.

RAF Typhoons were scrambled yesterday in an impressive show of force to buzz a Russian bomber flying a bit too close to British airspace for comfort.

Although the sight of Britain’s most sophisticated fighter jet shadowing the ageing Russian Tupolev-95 – a dinosaur from the Cold War – gives the reassuring impression that we have a military edge over Moscow, this image could not be further from the truth.

If the worst case scenario in Ukraine were to transpire, tipping the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation into a conventional war to defend Europe against the advancing massed ranks of Russian tank divisions there is little we could do to stop them.

My Comment: The British military may be a shadow of it's former self .... but the Russian military also has it's problems.

This is a great example of what I've been preaching.
None of these "experts etc" seem to have the slightest grasp of geo-political or military reality.
1)" advancing massed ranks of Russian tank divisions" I highly doubt that's Russian doctrine now, but the British inability to deploy large scale land forces is true.
2)The West is just waking up publicly to the fact it has little or no robust war fighting capability.
Oh this is so irritating I can't think straight at all.

If you took all the political implications out of it and said which military would you rather have now in this situation? I would have to say Russia's.

The British military is, for all war-fighting purposes, non-existent.

The Royal Navy has more admirals than ships and could, in fact, be sunk entirely by a single Russian attack submarine.

They have a whopping 200 tanks, but no realistic way to deploy them anywhere and no real support for them even if they did and very limited ammunition stocks.

They have gutted their fighting formations to the point they are little more than a ceremonial guard.

The Royal Air Force consists of a whopping 20 Typhoons, but almost no weapons to load on them, and a hundred GR4 Tornados - with severely limited ordinance.

The entirety of the British Military, if thrown into the fray, would begin their attack at dawn, and the Russians would be stuck cleaning up the mess at supper time.

In the European theater of operations .... no question about it .... the Russian military is dominant. The Russian military is geared to fight .... in Europe .... probably the only military that now has the capability and mindset is the French

Orion and WNU,
This speaks to the USAF, but it's pertinent.
