While another Great War cannot be ruled out, the prospect of this for the foreseeable future is not as high as it was in 1914.
July 2014 marks the centenary of the start of the First World War. One hundred years ago this month, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, setting off a chain reaction that engulfed key European powers, including Germany, Russia and Britain.
While another Great War cannot be ruled out, the prospect of this for the foreseeable future is not as high as 100 years ago. The relative global balance of power is different than in 1914. Moreover, nuclear weapons and international institutions, especially the UN, generally act as a restraining force against major conflict that did not then exist.
Nevertheless, the world today does have parallels with the early 20th century. Once again, there is a significant movement in global power taking place.

My Comment: It has always been man's nature to have wars and conflicts. Just because we now have better and more lethal weapons does not make that instinct go away.

I agree there is a TON of different scenarios that can lead to big war or a world war 3. The question is will we survive a so big war or will the earth just be a nuclear fallout. Hope this can be avoided but i doubt it.

Now Plowman, you shouldn't laugh. They may have in concealment a devastating hash tag like a hound of war crouched for employment.
