Fears That Russia Will Invade Ukraine Continue To Grow



Pentagon Chief Echoes Concerns of Possible Russian Invasion of Ukraine -- Voice of America

PENTAGON — A top U.S. official is voicing concern that Moscow may be preparing to invade Ukraine.

For days, Western officials have been warning about the Russian military buildup along the border with Ukraine.

After a visit to U.S. European Command Headquarters, U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel made his concern clear.

“When you see the buildup of Russian troops and the sophistication of those troops, the training of those troops, the heavy military equipment that's being put along that border, of course it's a reality and it's a threat," Hagel said.

My Comment: The humanitarian crisis in Donestk is escalating by the hour .... storming the city would only add more grief to those who are suffering a lot right now. But if these casualties continue their upward trend ... the the humanitarian situation on the ground becomes more worse than what it is now .... Putin will be under enormous pressure to invade eastern Ukraine .... and invade he will

I think it'll happen. To back down when there is enormous pressure from his power base to do more in Ukraine coupled with the possibility of losing face against the West with already high sanctions. He might as well go all in and create a buffer zone in Ukraine. After all Obama's term is almost up and with a new administration comes different policies. These sanctions will not last for the simple fact that the West can ill afford to sideline Russia. Too many global issues with each country having political sway.
