‘They’ll Ridicule Us’: Ukraine Defense Minister ‘Claims’ Russia Used Nukes -- RT
A reported claim by Ukraine’s Defense minister that Russia used tactical nuclear weapons against his troops sparked sarcastic comments from Moscow and criticism from the rival Ukrainian Interior Ministry.
The allegations, by Col. Gen. Valery Geletey, were first reported by Roman Bochkala, one of the Ukrainian journalists accompanying the minister in his recent trip to Poland.
“So Russia did use tactical nuclear weapons against Ukrainian troops,” the journalist wrote on his Facebook page, citing Geletey’s words.

My Comment: Ukraine’s Defense Minister is denying that he made such a claim .... stating instead that a reporter had misinterpreted his remarks. But this is a news story that is making the rounds in both Russia and Ukraine .... and it is stirring a lot of comment. What's my take .... I doubt that Col. Gen. Valery Geletey made such a claim because he knows that if a 3-Kiloton tactical nuclear device was used .... trust me on this .... minutes after such an explosion .... the entire world would be learning about it on almost every news network and social media forum.

I agree Peter, this is very bad Ukrianian war propaganda, I mean Seriusly I don't think Russia would use nuclear weapons in this conflict and the consequenses would have been devestating. Also why do you write in caps? Also Peter are you from Russia?
hi rhaegar find it cleaarer to read try without caps no im from ireland i just feel russia has been victimised espcially putin hes been leader of russia for over 12 yrs why in world would he want to start a war in europe he had to take crimea as nato would have takn had he not its there any way history shows that ive grown up been pro america all these yrs but over last 5 yrs my opinion has changed of war as i delved into past us gov work i changed my opinion of them there war mad listening to people ,spying on world starting wars for there own gain all for oil,gas,and to be an empire no 1 why cant they just butt out of muslim world and asia and do what russia,china and msot of word wabts to live in peace and mmake few bob
It seems extraordinarily unlikely that the Russians would use tactical nukes. There is no military need to do so - The Russians/Separatists have a big advantage in artillery already.
Any ground commander who requested the release of tactical nukes would probably be replaced ten seconds later as insane.

Thank for your opinion, so you are from Ireland, I am from Norway and want to travel to Russia in the near future ca 2018 when I will be 18 years old. Agree with you that there is very much anti-Russian propaganda in the western media and I to are not a fan of the US, which is one of the most worst contries in the world in my opinion. I am not a fan of their wars in the middle east, I don't know how to solve the conflicts there, I think that to help the governments combad radicalism and very strict border controll, pernhaps even closing the borders to some of the countries. I also hope for an Berlin-Moscow-Bejing axis, since it would solve many problems and I also suports Russias and Chinas wording, not just talk but progress, I am so sick of all the talk from western polticians of "change" when there is not any change and the poltical siturations just worsen. I have a very different poltical view than most people I am not a communist and I am not a capitalist I am a mix of those two and to be honest I preffer a strong government who serves the people and who haves nationalism. I have some moderate fascist tendensies but so be it. That some of my opinions thank you for yours :) Thats somthing I am for calm discussion between two parties who strongely disagree with each other. I support dialogue as the most important thing, but if no of the sides will listen then I mean violence is a temporary solution. Russia in this crisis is a very smart part and I support them, they help the people in Donbass and also they try to get a peacfull solution but Poroshenko will not listen, the one thing that still suprises me is why haven't Putin taken the whole country? One of the good qualities with Putin in my eyes is that he think, are a strong leader and he is not stupid. So I think the reason to why he has not taken Ukraine is he dosen't want chaos and unescesery violence in Ukriane. But if Poroshenko forces Putin to declaring war i support Putin. Sorry if this is badly formulated am not so good at exspressing myself on paper.
I concur Orion, I also higely doubt nukes will be used in this conflict and any commander doing it would have lost his job.
