Ukraine: Cease-fire Violations Have To Stop -- VOA

The Ukrainian military accused separatists and Russian troops on Sunday of continuing to shoot at government forces despite a September 5 cease-fire and said Kyiv would not go ahead with setting up a proposed buffer zone until the truce violations stopped.

Ukraine's warring sides agreed on Friday to withdraw artillery and other heavy weapons to the outer limits of a 30-kilometer (19-mile) buffer zone, building on the cease-fire in a conflict in eastern Ukraine that has killed more than 3,000 people.

Military spokesman Andriy Lysenko said the pro-Russian separatists and Russian troops were continuing to target the positions of government forces.

: To put it bluntly .... if there is no withdrawal of Ukrainian troops, the civil war will resume very quickly.

I agree, but I doubt Poroshenko will do it. How long do you think it will take before the ceasfire colapses if there is no changes? Also what do you think Putin wants? Do he wants it to last or does he want somthing else?

The ball is in Poroshenko's court. If war breaks out again .... I expect the Russians to escalate their involvement even more .... it will become a fight to the finish and there will be no negotiations until the Ukrainian army has been kicked out.
