(CNN) -- A nurse's assistant in Spain is the first person known to have contracted Ebola outside of Africa in the current outbreak.

Spanish Health Minister Ana Mato announced Monday that a test confirmed the assistant has the virus.

The woman had helped treat a Spanish missionary and a Spanish priest, both of whom had contracted Ebola in West Africa.

Both died after returning to Spain.

Health officials said she developed symptoms on September 30. She was hospitalized Sunday.

An investigation is under way to find everyone she may have had contact with while contagious. So far, there are no other known cases.

She was one of about 30 health professionals in Spain who helped to treat the Ebola patients.

Does your government lie to you?

Does it say it can only be contracted by physical contact or touching bodily fluids?

Yes that what we have heard so far, but I have read reports, that this Ebola outbreak is airborne, not like flu or common cold, but to a limited degree. I am a bit unsure if this is true since I can't vertify it. Woulden't suprise me that our govermnet lied to us in Norway, the polticians are not the most "trusted" to say it that way. But yes both our newspapers and government has said that Ebola is not airborne and only spread via physical contact and bodily fluids. If you have som info on the matter i would be happy to read it.

It is true. If someone sprays it instead of saying it, they could get spittle on you.

I think of long rodlike or spindly virus sort of like cantilevered beams. If they are not supported right, they break into pieces.

Like a a metal spring in a thermometer they bend and twist with temperature changes. They been or twist too much or the wrong way; they break.

So I do not think they like cold (obviously)

If some one sneezes the stuff will not get to room temperature immediately. Also the fluid will be able to support the viruses (many but not all) and keep them from breaking due to thermal of mechanical stress. Anyway that is my explanation and I am not a virologists.

Look up the term fomite.
