The cartoonist brought back the characters he co-created and drew an image of Asterix and Obelix bowing their heads in grief
Daily Mail: Asterix returns to pay tribute to the Charlie Hebdo victims: Cartoonist behind legendary comic strip comes out of retirement to show his respects
WNU Editor: I have so much to say on this incident .... but I am burned out. I started to write a commentary on this terrorist event, the media coverage, reactions from different governments, the commentaries and editorials .... but I just got angry .... and then I felt ashamed .... ashamed because I realized I was being selfish .... my ego was missing the big picture in this news story. The ones who are important in this story .... were the innocent victims in this attack ..... and those who lost their loved ones in this horrific event. They and the survivors will now have to live with what happened forever .... that the people that they loved so much .... died because they enjoyed drawing cartoons.
Therefore .... it is fitting .... that the last word on this news story should come from the icon of French cartoons .... Asterix and Obelix.

Well said. I share what you feel
WNU,
All that can be done is to remember the victims and try to see the truth be told. That is why I rarely comment on these things.
