not to sound overly cynical, but the "doomsday clock" is an overly melodramatic device geared towards making people worried, which serves to sell newspapers, but not much else. I would not take it seriously, since it is just someone's opinion. My father told me that "Opinions are like A**holes, everybody has got one" and I think he was right on that.
