German Chancellor Angela Merkel: 'Sending Arms To Ukraine Will Not Scare Vladimir Putin

The Telegraph: Ukraine crisis: Do not try to scare Putin, warns Merkel

Sending arms to Ukraine will not scare Vladimir Putin, warns Angela Merkel while Francois Hollande warns it could lead to war

WNU Editor: She is receiving a considerable amount of criticism for her stance .... Merkel defends Ukraine arms stance in face of U.S. criticism (The Telegraph). What's my take .... she is right and she is also reflecting German public opinion .... but I suspect that the U.S. government and Ukraine President Poroshenko are not going to pay attention to her concerns.

This, Greece, Turkey and Spain, may wind up breaking NATO.

If the Ukraine continues to follow the US push for War, it still will be the EU that winds up owning the mess.

The US, and Canada, are insulated from the consequences of their actions. The EU is not.

When it gets to this point then war is going to come one way or another. Putin is not going to stop. And each time there will be threats and worries about a nuclear war.

So the West gets to decide: When does it want nuclear war with Russia?

Putin is an aggressor. Of that I am certain.

Still going with a negotiated solution of a federated system or some type of autonomy is the only out for Ukraine.
It brings Putin closer to his goal, but that cannot be helped now and he might find harder to detach those areas and integrate them to Russian than he thinks.

A good economy and a well ordered society will frustrate Putin more at his point than arms.

Step 0 of the Marine corps doctrine on how to fight an insurgency.
