Camp Bastion In Danger Of Being Over-Run By The Afghan Taliban. 90 U.S. Special Forces Have Been Rushed In To Defend The Base

BBC

Daily Mail: Bastion on the brink: American Special Forces defend former British HQ as Taliban close in - and Afghan army pays the rebels not to attack

* Camp Bastion, in Afghanistan, is in danger of being over-run by the Taliban
* Former British Army base is being protected by US Special Forces soldiers
* Security source says Afghan army is paying Taliban not to attack the site
* Final 1,500 British troops left headquarters in Helmand Province last year

Camp Bastion, the former British Army headquarters in Helmand, Afghanistan, is in such danger of being over-run by the Taliban that an American Special Forces team has been deployed to protect it.

In a shocking indictment of how far security has collapsed in the province since Britain handed over the base to the Afghan National Army (ANA) last year, the United States has been forced to use 90 ‘Special Operations’ soldiers to defend the site.

WNU Editor: This is ending badly.

Wow - really goes to show the advances the Taliban has made in wake of the US draw down.

However, I have no doubt however that the US Special Forces will be able to defend Bastion.

I believe these stories are deceptive. There has been multiple stories of the Taliban taking this or that or about to take this or that, then if you dig a little deeper, find out that yes they took this or that but lost it several days later with heavy casualties. Yes they take things but its usually a propaganda victory which they then lose several days later to the ANA. You see these kind of stories a lot in todays media. There is some truth to it but seems to be exegerated.

I think the talibans are winning this war. The momentun seems to be with them and the government in kabul seems to be losing to many men
